Gucci Mane's influence made rap into an industry where tricks, feminine sounding dudes, and Simps thrived. All that IG tricking and glorifying hoes and mumbling and autotune, got the green light from him.

Ja Rule should have/get WAY more respect he is literally the architect of this entire era of music, actually the last damn near decade and a half.

I swear Cali nikkas ITT and IRL got the most to say about BIG :pachaha:
nah if anything nikkas been holding back on Big and stayed silent. Meanwhile his people like Cease, Junior mafia, and associates trying to make it seem like he was a saint

if we really want to be honest on the characters of these guys with all facts laid out of what we know, we can really go in on Big and his flaws to really see what type of person he was and the role he played in the EAST/West scuffle

In a parallel universe where nobody in Wu-Tang ever met/knew each other, the only ones who might've made it solo
are Deck, Meth, Cappa and maybe All In Together Now as a group.

Ghost is my favorite in the Clan, but iono if he woulda made it mainstream without RZA beats and outshining everbody else on tracks.

What about GZA and Rae?

I'm a fan of both artists but I can't agree with this. As much as I fukk wit Lil B, he's not the artist Kendrick is. Kendrick is not only making classic albums, but he's been one of the driving forces of real artistry in mainstream hip hop

Lil B is a legend of his generation and fathered alot of these new nikkas. Even influenced some of the rappers that came in the game around the time he did. In time, more people will recognize this. But Kendrick is a legend in his own right as well just off the strength of GKMC and TPAB. This nikka literally made a movie in one album and a English professor picked novel in another one. And he did both without being corny or selling out. Two albums that not only push artistry forward but also lyricism, storytelling, and musicianship

They're both special in their own right. I'd be the first to tell nikkas that God's Father is a classic mixtape. I just can't bring myself to say B is better than Kendrick

Also on the influence tip, Kendrick hasn't influenced as many artists as B but he's still influenced some. J.I.D, Cordae, IDK, Saba, and D Smoke just to name a few

Dapped + Repped

TPAB is my most fav Kenny album and in my Top 10 GOAT Hip Hop albums ever.

And I still remember the days when GKMC forced a lotta nikkas at the time to step their game up :wow: Kendrick was that fukking dude

this shouldnt be a sin because its this good but My Krazy Life can very well be argued as the Best Gangsta rap album of the past 11 years(since 2010)m Infact I think it is.

has great production helped have a impact by making YG be one of the prominent West coast gangsta rappers, Great storytelling, concise with its concept and narrative, etc

only way you can detract from it, is if you think any great rap album has to involve some multi syllable heavy rap and a nikka has to compound rhyme you to death or throw 16 metaphors(which given this is the Coli, there are prolly some nikkas on here who think this:mjlol:)

Read through this thread and I ain't see not one nikka name him BUT I know he lurks and shots out to JOE BUDDEN hip hop didn't/doesn't deserve that nikka AT ALL. dude even got kidnapped standing behind his convictions, been duffed, all that, and he's a REAL DUDE. maybe not a REAL nikka. But he deserves every bit of fame he has gotten from his pod and just as an ambassador of hip hop. PLUS he can spit.

Nas has always been overrated to me. He has a few good songs, and “Ether” is a classic, but his Stans hype him up way too much. He’s OKAY at best.
:yeshrug:

EXACTLY.
:francis:

How is he just ok . His storytelling alone makes him a legend. Rappers don't even tell stories anymore. Meanwhile Nas telling stories Backwards, and rapping from the perspective of a gun and a roach.

Like i said 90s rappers imo had better methods of writing stories. But your wrong. King Von was a storyteller and a rather good and entertaining one

I ain't shyt on King Von the little that I did hear of him I liked. It's different levels of storytelling tho. King Von is more Scarface than The Last Emperor or Nas. But I can dig it, you want stories like "A Good Day" and not like "Secret Wars"

8 balls Lost album is the GOAT double CD and is a certified classic. Its Better than Life After Death and All Eyez On Me (coming from a Pac fan).

The only thing good that came from the South is Crucial Conflict, the old 36 mafia, goodie mob, and Cunninglyngists. The rest of the region is hot garbage and is one of the main reason rap is shytty now a days.

Outlawz are wack and were only liked cuz of Pac. If Pac wasnt in a song with them, the track was getting skipped. The whole 2pac and Outlawz album was mediocre at best. A few good songs but the rest were skippable due to the Outlawz.

Bone Thugs were dope as a group but when they try to go solo, shyt was depressing. They have 3 classic albums together but not a solo album is worth mentioning from them.

Ain’t Crucial Conflict from Chicago tho?
