The south had the best groups ever.. And I am from Ohio
What's the name of that group from out there that took Crime Boss/ Mr Mike lyric and made a song out of it? They were on Rap City way back in the gap.
"Too Much Drama on my mama's baby"
The very first verse of the song.

Phonte is better than Lil Wayne...and this isn't just a Coli based opinion
agreed AND he's that lite skinneded bytch boy from Toronto tried his hardest to rhyme like Tigallo
Whole Dipset was/is trash to me. When he first started to become a name I used to think nikkas was trolling when they said they liked Cam'ron
Agreed
Aint shyt special about Jay-Z
nikka literally made the same albums until he was damn near 50

My Sins:
- Pac is overrated af by his stans (bring ya negs, idgaf)
- Only folks who wanna sound cool put Quik in their T5/T10 producers list
- Q Tip is severely underrated as a producer
- Outkast is my GOAT group but I prefer listening to The Roots (before they got on that avant garde shyt) and Little Brother over them
- Scarface is really, REALLY boring. Basically has had the same flow forever
- Sonically, beats sound better and are more crisp now but I prefer lo-fi depending on the artist (specifically east coast MCs)
- The older I've gotten, the more it irks me that the genre doesn't grow with its fans. I get that its perceived as a young mans genre but there's room for both

off the board but what Bruno Mars does has been done over and over again before him.....he brings nothing new, just a carbon copy

Above the fray.
J-Dilla gets better promotion because he passed away, but Large Professor's production is better. As is the work of other rap producers from the same era.

Little Brother is the group that people feel they have to give props to . There are no "A"s for Effort in hip hop . "Bu-bu-but at least they're not rapping about x,y,z" doesn't make an artist/group good. They are trash.

Pac's first 2 albums were garbage. He could never be the GOAT.

Cam’ron was Enimem would be if Em was Black. Dipset just game him more flavor. Schittier flavor.
Everybody else in Dipset was trash. In real time, I also thought everyone was trolling getting on board with The Movement...but I think everyone was just starved for a movement.

I'll start. :yeshrug:Never got they hype around A Tribe Called Quest, Maybe i just missed out on them, but they was just OK to me.

I can meet you here. Tribe is the most...”regular” rap of all time.
Their music is good, not great. I don’t understand how folk think they have 3 “classics”.
They are the 4th most entertaining group in Native Tongues:

Jungle Brothers > Beatnuts > De La (I agree with whoever said they are pretentious nerds,
but AT LEAST they knew how to switch up the mood in a song during the sample era to where
they weren’t boring ass all the fucc. After the Sample Clearance Holocaust, they fell off a cliff)
