Common goes hard on this album after a few listens. The softer production and the singer PJ on one song after another takes away from the strengths.

I can see myself returning to this more than the AZ joint, which has a better variation in production

Checked this out after hearing the LA Leakers freestyle but it's not doing much for me, Black America Again was the last thing I liked from him. Com dropped enough classics that will stick with me for a lifetime that I don't really care if he drops wack shyt in his twilight tho.

Yea Com is in my top 5 but I agree. His last 2 projects arent bad per say but they are just real ordinary. Im on track 6 of this and its the same kinda feel. Black America again was the last project that got me excited.

Happy that Com is still making music and his recent freestyle shows that he can still spit. That said, this album did not interest me at all and I hope he switches it up a bit, last few releases feeling very samey

This was a redundant ass lp

He could have kept this, given he already have us part 1 which is similar to this

im a fan of common, but i find alot of what he does being to repetitive.
alot of his projects since Dreamer have been the same concept, style of rapping, etc

Black america was somewhat the same, but the execution was good.
besides that alot of his shyt seems samey and not well executed/boring

:blessed:

I'm late on this thread and didn't know he drops this album. This year been good for hip-hop.

Where you can listen to the album? on Youtube or what?

Common needs some soulful, funky beats with some knock. His stuff is a little too subdued melodic standing in the middle of the field painted by Bob Ross. I like all those things, just not on every song.

He should ask Q-Tip, No-ID, Knxwledge, Flying Lotus, or somebody in that vein to EP his next album.

The rhymes are clearly there, he just need to lock in with folks that will tap in to all sides of his creativity, not just the side only catering to holding up the woman.

I'd give it a 65 to 70 out of 100
