My Momma is the grammar police captain. I’m well spoken by default. When I was growing up, when I would ask my mom some shyt like, where the keys at, her answer would be “behind the preposition” :usure: And I would have to rephrase and be like, where are the keys?:francis: So I’m very articulate and well spoken.

With that said, what does all of this shyt matter? Communication is about conveying thoughts. As long as you understand the thought the person is trying to get across, all these formalities don’t really mean shyt. I typically don’t speak proper unless I’m in a professional setting because breaking all the language rules and speaking with Ebonics is more natural to me. I see someone I know, I’m gonna say, the fukk goin’ on? Not, Hi how are you today. And if someone says irregardless to me, I’m gonna understand exactly what they mean, even though it technically may not be a word.

Is preposition use at the end of a sentence allowed if the preposition follows a verb?

(examples)

Which keys are you speaking of?

I wonder where they ran off to.

I agree that it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, as long as the person misusing grammar can convey their thoughts clearly. I think some people are just sticklers for rules.

How yall feel about using female as a pronoun instead of an adjective? I had a woman correct me years ago and haven't done it since lmao. She lit my ass up and I was like, cool, not even worth the squeeze...:whoa:. So yea, I make sure to not refer to them as "females".

I’ve never referred to women as “females” myself, but I also never thought it was that big of a deal. But one day I asked a chick why it bothered her so much, and she explained that it feels dehumanizing, she likened it to how she feels when non-Black people refer to us as “Blacks” and I felt where she was coming from.

This doesnt matter if you are unemployed or a construction worker but if you are sending messages or emails to people or writing descriptions on a website, etc these matter. Correct spelling and grammar “as we were taught” shows professionalism in many areas.

It doesn’t matter on forums but in other areas of life this alters perceptions
