How likely is that, really?


vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna) are effective against every last one of these variants for one, and it only takes a specific portion of people to reach herd immunity. There’s gonna be people that choose to take there chances with Covid. Just accept it fam, it’s not the end of the world.

Pfizer and Moderna are very effective against all known variants at this point. Some of the other vaccines, not as much.
We don’t know odds on additional more deadly and vaccine resistant variants arising. We just know the risk is out there as long as the virus is circulating. Unvaccinated people are, of course, far more likely to transmit the virus giving it that opportunity. Look what’s happening in India with the variant there.

I’d never wish death on anyone. Hopefully most aren’t really doing that.

I just think there’s a natural Instinct to want people to realize things? Maybe? I have a big family in the health care system, and I’ve heard so many horror stories this year of people literally dying from covid that are spending their final hours yelling at doctors and nurses about how it’s a lie and a conspiracy, as it’s killing them, when they should be trying to spend final moments saying goodbye to loved ones and trying to find peace.

I think a lot of people are angry that people are dying unnecessarily, and sometimes (especially with the anonymity of the internet) that expresses itself in a kind of cynical manner like what you’re referring to.

P definitely would’ve needed the vaccine. And P is one of my life heroes. I know he believed a lot of conspiracies, but in regards to himself, I’m honestly not sure what he’d have done. I do think he would’ve done a lot of research first. It still hurts me so much that he’s gone.

I completely agree with you that government doesn’t always have the interests of the people at heart. But in this case, governments can’t function with a deadly once a century virus circulating, killing people or making them refrain from going about their business in an effort to avoid catching it. Governments don’t want to see the hit in tax revenue from half the population dying. There is an incentive, apart from people’s health and well being, to stopping this virus.
