outside of the "rewind that" (which is a great tribute to dilla) i ain't really feelin' this

i can't quite put my finger on what it is but the album just don't move me like that. i like that it doesn't sound like anythin' else i've heard this year however that's not always a great thing if you don't think the music is good or great.

i think it's the lack chemistry between common's rhymin' and the beats. sometimes it seems like common ain't even tryin' to rhyme over them rather just around them. that's just my 2 cents though :manny:

i will say, this is by far is most interestin' in a long time. it seems like he was really challengin' himself on this album to come with somethin' fierce
I agree with this. My issue is that its not what I listen to common for. I like common when hes on that smooth laid back grown man music tip. I respect trying a different sound but I dont listen to common to hear big sean spit juvenile hooks or to hear she hustle harder than a nikka..

And the production is lacking to me. Its a bit funky for my taste. And again too many features. I do love kingdom and rewind that. You can feel the heart he put in that song

naw, i'm for "funky" production. i'm a funk head myself. but like anythin', it has to be done right. this album just sounds like a hodge podge of somethin' that didn't quite turn out quite right. it's definitely different but somethin' bein' "different" isn't always a good or great thing if ain't done right
