Probably feeling this around a 3 - 3.5 mic album. Some very good tracks, some not so much.

Album is cool.

Com's still one of the best to ever do it. My only problem with his last few projects, have been the tracks that sound like reaches. He kinda does these joints now that don't seem to really be in his zone. That's usually where his lines get a little corny. Definitely not his best, but I'd roll with this way more than most of the stuff that drops today. I'm not mad at the dude, this is still good music.

Yo, I'm literally crying from laughing at this nikka's tv stand story HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

"It was a gift so I couldn't refuse it" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Com was standing there in one of his smurf hats and extra smedium jean jackets, looking at Dilla's struggle gift from the thrift store like :mjpls: "um, yeah, thanks my nikka... can you put it in that corner over there? Nah, the other corner, behind the wall."

Like with Nas' Bye Baby, sometimes these nikkas can't see past their own egos to clarify depth from nonsense.

I'm listening ready for some heartfelt shyt, and those lyrics caught me mad off guard.

I was thinking when I heard it "who buys a TV Stand as a gift? :wtf:"

We really questioning the gift choice of a dude who was in a wheelchair, dying from lupus?

:mjlol:

No, but I am really questioning Common's garbage flow, Malachi the Nutcracker level lyrics, and bizarre phrasing of that entire incident on a supposed heartfelt song that sounds like he wrote it in 10 minutes between auditioning for B-movie roles.

Flodge free zone
He basically says a dying, free loading Dilla gave him a struggle stand that he decided to honor in a completely selfless way by placing HIS Grammy* on once Jay Dee became worm food.

Common won a Grammy? For what?

I see what you're saying. Com let the ball drop on that on some I'm gonna play those heartstrings but didn't convey his thoughts on that one. He made a heartfelt moment sound corny.

The phrasing is just awkward, man. On top of it sounding corny, he phrased it so it sounds like "I ain't want that cheap ass, wack ass gift; but the nikka was dying, so I was like whatever, I'll accept this tv stand. But I ain't about to use this bullshyt. Years later, I won a grammy and put my magnificent grammy on the aforementioned stand, thus exalting that trash to a monument, because I'm the man and... Well... You know: RIP Dilla, thanks for those free beats you tossed me."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
