damn sounds like an avg album im still going to buy it cause sometimes it takes a while to grow on you
I actually like the album. It's not his best effort though, but it's also not his worst. My biggest gripe with the album is it has corny lines. The production is quite different from his other albums. It's more stripped down, drummy, and aggressive than a lot of his other albums. His delivery is also more aggressive on this album. He also takes some risks with his flow.

Yeah album was a step down for him unfortunately. "Real" is far and away the dopest joint on there. Definitely worth a listen though, I copped it too but have only listened to it about 4 times.

i didn't think the beats were the biggest problem with the the album..it was Common himself.
listened to the album a few times and i remember thinking he was pretty awful on most of it for someone of his caliber.

its kinda a street album in a way. its Commons American Gangster but not as good. i liked it tho
