EC has some really good material and some struggle songs....it wasnt trash, just very inconsistent

I'm a huge 3k fan but love below was kinda :ld: outside a few songs

There was nothing wrong with Electric Circus
The only bullshyt track was Jimi Was A Rock Star, which I suspect was Erykah's doing
He rightfully got called out for biting Kast's Liberation and calling it Heaven Somewhere, but the track was still dope
Other than that, mfs was jammin the shyt out of that album for about two weeks
Then the neo-soul haters started chiming in and saying it was too boho and wack
Of course, they went in on the silly shyt Com was wearing at the time
The neo-soul fans turned tail like bytches and changed their opinion about the album
Before long, everyone was booing and hissing
The Soulquarian Crew fell apart behind that and pretty much abandoned Com when he needed back up
Erykah showed her true colors and broke up with Com
He's been apologizing for that album ever since
But I understand, you're not gonna feel too positively about an entire album dedicated to a bytch who had you simpin on the world stage and broke camp on you when you needed her the most
Without the debacle of Electric Circus, you dont get one of his better albums, Be

After Be, Com became his own worst enemy.
He pretty much became the rap version of John Lewis.
The revisionist history on this album always cracks me up because I watched it unfold in real time.

I think it's a great album IMO.

Crazy how much hate he got for it. Production was immaculate and aside from a few simple verses, he was rapping his ass off on Soul Power and Aquarius

Never understood the hate for this album
strongly agree. if kendrick dropped the same album people would be calling it brilliant.

No they wouldn’t. There were folks that didn’t vibe with Damn! and say it’s trash when it’s clearly not
theyre the minority. he's one of the most celebrated rappers of out time. u realize people claim he has multiple classic albums?

Electric Circus and The Love Below are fly as fukk and low key these albums among
others had an insane influence on Hip-Hop as it would be in the 2010's and on.

I like Electric Circus, I listened to it well after everything happened, in isolation on my own time
and well...it moved me.
