LWFC was one of the first albums I remember marking my pivot out of listening to rap in middle school to when I discovered basically everyone in the Soulquarians movement. That Black on Both Sides, Train of Thought and Internal Affairs all came out within the next two years. What an amazing time for music

He has an extremely dope catalog...and on top of that he's a phenomenal MC...he's amazing off the top, he's amazing on stage and can move and rock any crowd. And he's really nice just on some pure rapping shh!t, he's excellent with the bars.
He might be Top 15-20 in the history of rap music, imo...you can probably argue that he's higher than that. I think if he was more street/materialistic/brag heavy like most of his peers he'd be held in higher regard by the masses and you'd see his name pop up way more often than it does.

I respect your take. I used to have rap arguments about my favorite artists. Fans were the original street teams / promo men.
One thing I will say in general, I've seen a lot of top artist and album lists from friends and fans. Rarely is Common in anybody's list. His output of songs and features is filled with great work, but that classic album is just not there.
If you go back and read any top 10-25 album or artist lists on this forum, I'm not sure you will see many Common mentions. Even from members who fukk with him and are championing him in this thread.
