I know yall gonna call me out for this but I heard this album for the first time this afternoon. Its beautiful :wow:

Previously the only song I had listened to was "A Song For Assata". I guess it was one of those moments where the one song was so great(the assata song) that for ages I only listened to that. But when I heard the 6th Sense :mindblown:

What a landmark album, and the cover is so quintessential to the content on the record.

You had never heard "The Light"? I was only 9 but that song was everywhere

Regardless, album is still a classic

Common's Like Water for Chocolate is one of the best hip hop albums ever produced that doesn't get the credit or acclaim that it deserves.

lmao at the new jacks who thought "Be" was a better album
Be is probably the weakest "good" common album.

Yup. Don't get me wrong, I like Be plenty, but shyt isn't in the same category as Resurrection, One Day it'll All Make Sense & Like Water for Chocolate. I think it's got some kind of stigma attached to it because of Kanye, and folks feel the need to prop it up even more for that fact. Dope album, but definitely overrated by alot of ppl.

Anyways, I just ran this album back this past weekend, and it sounded as good as ever. Matter of fact, I'll probably put it on later while I'm heading to sleep and let that Soulquarian sound take me away.

Very dope album.

I still rock with Resurrection and One Day It'll All Make Sense as my favorite Common albums. Com' and No ID just made perfect music from '94-'98. That's when he became one of my favorite MC's. Common says his favorite album is Be, but I'm still going with Resurrection as this dude's best work ever. I haven't stopped listening to that since it dropped.
