"Ill Bomb" was dope, I remember Flex loved that record, always played it and bombed it up... LL had another joint around that time after Ill Bomb, I can't remember the name but it was crazy too, talking about riding Alpo's bikes or sumn (pause), I could Google it and find out but I aint doin all that right now.

"Step into a world" is a different level tho, shyt is still fire, that beat is crazy.

I didn't like "Guess Who's Back" at all, yall trippin, lol. I mean even Ra's trash is still at least good, it was okay I guess.

KRS got it.

you picked one of the worst Rakim single/videos ever and placed it against 2 classic joints:russ: . Why would you do that?

HAHAHAHAHAAA! My nig, it's all G. You know Rakim like my hero and ish like that...I just genuinely disliked that record man, it never got me for some reason.
None of Ra's solo albums are great. 18th letter was decent(despite Clark Kent's wack beats). The Master was worse and Seventh Seal was terrible. And Rakim is my favorite MC of all time. I have physical copies of all his shyt with 2 and 3 copies of some.

Eric B's stall tactics, bleeding the label, not signing off to let Ra record robbed us of PEAK Rakim lyrics and albums.
Glad you're honest about the albums and content he did release after that time. His early work set such a high bar that his solo output never matched.

I’ve loved Step Into A World since it came out. Bought the CD single back then and still play it semi regularly til this day. So it’s not even close for me.

It was really poorly received at the time and the video did not help at all, but the song aged very well to me and has pivoted to iconic…the scene in across the spiderverse definitely could’ve had any of these songs but this was the one they went with (and they wouldn’t have gone with a bx or queens song but thats neither here nor there).

It aged well enough to absolve the poor entry at the time to me
