The industry got tired of the streets when its business model was no longer profitable from exploiting inner city life. KRS and others talked about this years before it happened, but people were obsessed with the latest fukkery from street rappers and listening to their mixtapes and they ignored him. Like I said, most of gangsta rap is fraud nature with few "real" dudes that actually done any kind of crime, like you said, DR. Dre. Besides, the exposal made people realize that most rappers are faking their lifestyle on some extent, and can't single out Ross for that shyt, so they played his music instead.
nah. to the contrary, the industry got tired of dealing with real street dudes. they wanted less beanie siegals and more guys that werent really on it like that, but had just enough of a legit background. pretty much the rick ross types.
i remember when dude posted this on sohh about 10 or so years ago and he was on point. people always remember that thread where the dude was exposing all these industry scandals & stories but nobody seems to remember the poster that im talking about. and it went down just like that.
