Real talk, the only reason Wayne stans have this illusion that he was ever dope was based on him being a little different than the average rapper from NO. He's an exception to typical deep South wackness kinda like Curren$y, or Big KRIT. They're anomalies in the rap game. Reminds me of the old thread about recieving a dictionary when you purchase Illmatic south of the dixie line. I mean, you've got Southern emcees who are actually alright with it, your Ricky Rosses, your Outkasts, TIs, etc.. But minus the handful of nice Southern emcees, you're left with a neverending abyss of borderline illiterate buffoons with the adjective, Lil, being part of their stage name.

Wayne brought a little something different to the game. He actually grew up in the game having graduated from the days of Baby molesting him when he was, Lil, and now goes by Weezy. He graduated from biting the Clipse fashion to dressing like a bum all the way to dressing like a woman. He bit Jay's style, bit Pusha T, bit damn near everybody in the Bay, etc.. He doesn't just rip mics, but plays guitar, rides skateboards, wears wallet chains.

The reality at the end of the day though, is he's still a mediocre ass rapper who packaged his image well enough to fool the public into thinking he's different.

C2 and No Ceilings were the last good projects from him.

I'd be satisfied if he never made a fukking song again ... if him and Juelz would finish I Can't Feel My Face.

I really don't see how C4 was that different from C3 as far as quality. same randomness, nice beats, inability to stay on topic and mixture of hit and miss punchlines. There seems to be a general opinion that C3 was a modern day classic while C4 was absolutely terrible. I think both albums were average with some :gladbron: moments and a lot of :what::aicmon: moments. I wouldn't put one that much higher than the other

The lack hooks on c4 was:laff: he fell off after c2 really. He lost gilly and then became hit or miss. C3 didn't even keep up the same format as the first 2

Thank you!!

I haven't been able to articulate this, but this is what i have been trying to tell people for ages. It's like his fan base never heard of punchlines before and when Wayne started doing it, they thought he was revolutionizing them game.
