I'm not joking. AND it ain't just Complex but like 99 percent of rap music journalism is majority white, which is why you have to put the stuff that they write into context.
It's not that surprising I was a journalism major and could usually count the number of other black dudes in the class on one hand, wasn't really the same case for black girls though it was a lot of them especially in broadcast classes.. In small classes I was probably the only black guy in the room no lie.
this what we need to start doing..posting pics of the people who are writing this BS
all these CAC/nerds praising kanye/drake
good job coli
#theshift
I feel your pain,I rarely saw another black guy in any of my journalism classes at Ohio StateMaybe @SHAQAVELLI will tell us how journalism classes at Penn state were

Not all hip-hop journalism is white but like a lot of the parts of the creative industry, financial industry, legal practice, medical industry.... shyt ANY industry, the effects of racism and patronage are real. (I'm black and have worked for several black-owned and run sites like SmokingSection, SOHH etc.) They swoop into these spaces, buy up all the black media and the owners are happy to sell out both the staff and management duties for a check. Real talk. A few are still hanging in there but it's getting smaller and smaller and smaller.
