Yeah definitely, I don't think Irv would have let Jay sell him short, and I don't think Jay would have tried to either way, seeing as how they know each other.

I think Ja is imagining what could have happened, which probably wouldn't have happened, so he felt a way about it... But it's not as if Ja didn't have a solid career, tbh dude's problem was 50, he just wasn't adjusting to times and his persona wasn't there. It's like what are you supposed to be? We've only known him as the thug R&B singer rapper.

the beef came and went along with his popularity wanin' as well as his label takin' a massive blow

but in the end, ja did alright for himself; he got himself off the block, got to pursue a career that he has love for, made millions from it and was once 1 of the biggest names in hop hop/pop music, made some money off of actin' (even though actin' ain't his thing lmao), did his time away and now seems to be in a good place just takin' care of his family and doin' the reality tv thing. at the end of the day, ja made himself and his family some money and seems to be eatin' good off of it

i don't think anyone would dispute that unless they either won't born or around when 2pac was puttin' out music and they got into pac's music after hearin' their 1st ja rule song or they trollin'

but no one can ever outshine pac's legacy and iconic position in not only hip hop music but music and all around the world, period

ja ate off of pac's blueprint just like a lot of other muthafukkas did

First off, "Can I Get A" was a MASSIVE song. It's actually the song that made me give a fukk about Jay-Z.

Secondly, "Put It On Me" is straight garbage. Most of those "chick oriented" Murda Inc songs were straight "Between Me and You" would have been a better choice as that song is sorta listenable. And I'm pretty sure it's the song that actually made Ja Rule's pop transition even possible.

Even then, isn't Magnum Opus supposed to focus on the best of the best of hip hop? Not just "hey, this was popular at one point."

Sure Murda Inc had a run, but it's funny how nobody gives a fukk anymore. I keep telling y'all nikkas: runs don't mean shyt against Father Time. It's all about how the music holds up.
