I neeed some advice

I'm in school right now for marketing/finance but some people have told me it isn't as much of a sure thing as computer based careers. So I'm wondering should I change my major to computer science? I know if I change my major I could just get a miltary job get a security clearance and I would be gucci after I got out with a dope career plus I'm in the Atl which is becoming a hot bed for tech. However I'm hesitant cause I won't have the versatility of a business degree. I might wake up one day and want to work in a different industry or start my own business and a computer science degree would have me handcuffed. Cause I am highly interested in working in music on the business side. So what is my best move?

I'm trying to be a 6 figure coli breh by my late 20's

I'm still young so I just want to choose the thing that gives me the most flexibility and gives me the most potentional to whip a Mercedes in a 5 years

can you get the same money in c.e. as finance? yes.

if you want to do finance, consider the culture of the arena. same for c.e. all where do you want to be in each of those fields? wall street finance or silicon valley tech or something outside of the norm.

a lot of c.e.s go on to get mbas and vice versa tho so you cant really go wrong if you want to change later

Stop letting other people tell you to chase the money here and there and focus on what you enjoy.
What field are you passionate about?
Study something that will pay the bills, yes, but focus on a career field you will enjoy.

Well first off I will say that a computer science degree is generally more respected unless you get your business degree from a prestigious uni. Also, finance and economics lend more weight than say, marketing or something similar (not including marketing analytics and the like which is more computer sci focused). I think your gut is right though,for the most flexibility a business degree would serve your purposes but I think you could get where you need to be and would have a higher 'floor' with a computer science degree.

I'm passionate about music but I need back up plans and I know I can always try to be a executive in the music industry with a business degree.

I personally think universities sell the flexibility of business degree (as more rounded than others esp in the eyes of employers) just to make more money but that's another topic.

Make sure CS is something you can tolerate, at the very least. You don't want to end up stuck in a major that you couldn't care less about.

Most places I've seen require some type of business degree. It's just that I might wake up one day and wont to do something different and im stuck is all. Just coming up with a plan to avoid headaches.
