i never said that, coding is probably one of the most lucrative skills u can learn. im just saying the tech industry is pretty fukking racist

That's why I think the financing degree might be better for me I still want to code down the line

If you not going to a top 10 school in the world, it is mad pointless to get a finance degree, you will be selling insurance.

However an engineering, MIS, CS degree can be obtained anywhere that is credible and still have good job prospects.

And I switched from Finance...

Finance is much more pedigree oriented (i.e where you went to school), with Comp Sci an Engineering you have far more latitude in your opportunities. BUT if you have a strong math background, you'll do pretty well no matter what.

Now if you were to get into Wharton or something for Finance--I'd recommend that you'd go there.

Even then, it's way easier to go for a STEM degree and switch to high finance than get a finance degree and switch to tech....

Yeah without a doubt, a lot of Finance programs aren't necessarily strong in Quant. It's sort of like Economics in the sense that it can be as math heavy as you want it to be or whatever the requirements are for the completion of your program.

My advice, all things being equal--I don't think you can lose with Engineering.

What's wrong with cs major
Nothing at all but I wouldn't recommend taking it up if you are only interested in pay. The workload gets pretty intense and you might end up hating it if you aren't already interested in CS. You are transferring from a CC or are you starting CC soon? If you are starting CC, just go with nursing or any other two year that can get you a job faster. lol This is only assuming you are looking to get paid though.

So sc is pretty much better than financing what is your major?

My major is MIS, it's a mix between business and computer science...pretty much fukked myself by not just picking Software Engineering or whatever...my school offered instead of Computer Science...Software Engineering really became an acceptable degree....

MIS is a good degree, but I fukking hate business classes...

Finance waa my major until I switched...I just gonna get out...run my business and then get a Master's in computer science

The degree isn't the key to unlock the door. The key to unlock the door is experience. You can pick either one but if you don't internship, network, or obtain some type of experience while studying, you'll end up unemployed begging for a company to take a chance on you. Not to mention them student loan bills going to pile up.

This and it is way easier to get experience in a technical field...

I graduated with a CS degree.

I make more money than all of my friends and I'm not even a whole 6 months out of school. :obama:

However it is not for everyone I've seen a lot of people wash out because they were not disciplined, didn't work hard, and or bytched too much.
