even if ur allowed to carry, you can't shoot someone unless you're in imminent danger. now if dude comes in the joint pointing a pistol at you, then all bets are off. but if you let him rob you, then decide to go after him after the fact and shoot him, you're finished.

Apparently someone else doesnt have to have a gun to be a threat to u. Plus if u shoot him from the front its your word and a defensive wound against the word of a dead man

I dont know how the law works with this but I wonder if it would be OK to shoot a warning shot to get dude to turn around, drop the shyt, maybe even wait till the cops come.

man, I just took a long ass class on concealed carry this month. in illinois at least, you CANNOT shoot warning shots. that's totally illegal. you ain't sposed to shoot anyone one unless your life or your fam's life is in imminent danger. everything else, you getting the

I personally have experience putting over 10,000 rds in at the range, hitting dimes, nickels and quarter sized groups. Therefore I would take my chance at chasing at him running out the door and putting one in his back or leg while he gets away. Im no superman, My groups start to get inconsistent at 50yrds. if he is running like ricky he is going to the hospital then to jail, if he is doing cross patterns then there is a chance he might escape the full clip. I wouldnt put the odds in his favor. Im not saying im surgerical with the shyt but I am very comfortable shooting.

dude shooting at the range is a totally different scenario against stationary targets versus running after someone and trying to hit a moving target. all that range shyt goes out the window then.

warning shots will get you a good 10 years or so locked up. I think its a felony wreckless endangerment charge or something. i cant recall exactly

Nah the range is where you practice your control. Shooting no matter what requires control, proper holds, breathing and trigger control. When you know your weapon a huge center mass is easy to hit even when it is moving. You just gotta remember the fundamentals. Ive done small game too, the thing about shooting any living creature is ethics. The ethics are the when (to shoot), where (to shoot) and how (to shoot). I wouldnt take a head shot, too risky bullet misses, hits a bystander, moving target, small center mass too many variables. The back would be the easiest thing to put one in, if he is running away, unless he is running like a looney tunes character his legs are going to be right under his torso which makes for a good butt shot or the back of the legs in which he will fall.
