You don't have to go to extremes to try to prove a point. A point which you have wrong btw.

The CPU thing is being blown out of proportion. You can throw in a modern low end $50-$60 pentium chip inside a PC these days and as long as you have a very capable graphics card you will be able to run most games at 1080P with no problems.

The main factors are going to be RAM and GPU. The CPU will definitely help, but it falls to at least 3rd place when all things are considered while gaming.

much of that is because many of those games were designed to run on a ps360. a lot of these big open-world games that people want in the next gen do take a lot of cpu power. BF3 with 64 players takes a lot of cpu power, and the same will probably be true of BF4

it falls to 3rd place if what you're playing doesnt use a lot of computations for physics based games or AI. i'm telling you to play some of these sports games and to not have your teammates(cpu players) not doing what they are supposed to do.you need a legit processor to compute the numbers for their AI. in addition to all the physics that goes into everyone's movement, the ball's movement, jersey movements, etc. if these FPS games dont need that kind of AI and dont have that many physics computations then yes you are correct. and understand something. i'm not talking about "can i RUN the game" i'm talking about can i play the game at its optimal peak. people will allow graphics to suffer if they get incredible game play. if you dont believe me see all the early GTA's that looked like they were a gen behind in the graphics dept but the gameplay was so good you looked passed it.

you are correct a bum graphics card can put you in a position where the game wont even turn on to begin with. but who cares if a game turns on and the AI stinks? the physics that should be there is questionable. basically you see all sorts of little glitches due to a bum cpu, but hey you're good cause the graphics card /gpu has it looking incredible. who cares if it plays like crap.
