Conflict has been on and off for more than a decade. I'm from there. Don't really follow the news that much though, pissed off. It's basically a long protracted conflict at this point with entire regions controlled by this or that rebel group with occasional spurts, retreats, peace talks, new rebel groups, new attacks, rinse and repeat

Idriss Deby's death will probably have big consequences for CAR and the whole region. Dude was the stronghold of the area, with the biggest army. Surprised his death is not being talked about that much.

I might use this thread to cover the news coming out of Chad as well since, like breh said, it affects the CAR too
