will be entering my 3rd of 4 year of college as a mis major for those who dont know what it is its basically IT and business major. as im entering my senior years Inow want to start deciding what path i want to go down and start preparing before i graduate...

my programming skills are not the best but what from what i've seen most dev work is actually pretty basic and no different from 1 year comsci work and they eat however not as much as devs in the US do
. however where i live there's a TON of software sales job for all the big companies you can think of so i know i can eat. fidning it really hard to decide which path i want to go

Sales is the highest paying occupation in the world.

I tried to start a thread for bruhs that have careers in sales. It's a great place for young men to start out and learn how to network and communicate with others.

Plus the pay can be great if you learn the skill of communication.

Which do you actually like more? Do you like talking and interacting with people or do you prefer sitting in front of a computer and knocking out code? I wouldn't worry about the money because competence is what will pay. While you could technically earn a ton on salary with sales, you won't earn a lot if you can't actually make sales. There are a ton of high paying development jobs, but if you can't code, then those will be out of reach. Pick the one where you will be fine with spending your free time honing your skills and becoming competent, which should be the one you actually enjoy more.

I think guys also need to look into Systems Admin/Dev Ops as a option. Say a person just doesn't "get" programming or at least needs more time, Dev Ops/Admin is a great way to make over 100k in the meantime. Linux/AWS mixed with Ansible/Chef/Puppet is the path.

My background is in systems side and I don't necessarily know any language but I do understand logic. Brushing up on Linux, powershell and CI/CD and praying that I can make the jump to devops within the next year
