You point out you agreed with his past position and disagree with his present one. People can change for the better and they can change for the worse.Yeah,we bring up peoples shortcomings and downfalls all the time when we dont like things they said or did. Regardless of how much positive information they have stated. But in Malcolms defense he did die as a changed man clearly. But if he lived to become some establishment Democrat/MSNBC analyst. Would it not be okay to still idolize Malcolm X and the information he offered back in the day?
Also, I do not believe in idolizing the person, instead I believe in recognizing the sentiments, actions, and accomplishments of the person. I believe there is a very real difference between idolization and recognition.
