Lol I'm not gonna go so far as to call them frauds just for an easier road to the finals. I mean yeah they didn't have to play Spurs/Clippers/OKC/Blazers but neither did Cavs. If any asterisk gotta come up, it's gotta be within the Finals only. And there was obvious fukkery.

they do deserve credit for 83 wins in a single season but the fact they avoided the Spurs, Clippers and a healthy Cavs team really does take away from them being on the level of any other 60+ win teams from history that won the title. Not their fault but they really should've put the Cavs away easier than 6 games if they were an all time great team.
All spurs had to do was beat the pelicans at the end of the season...is that the warriors fault?

Is it the warriors fault the clips choked per usual?
Is it they fought conley and allen got hurt?
Or that love and Irving got hurt again?

No asterisk they earned it

Why is avoiding the Spurs and Clips a big deal? Tony Parker, Manu and Splitter looked awful. No way they beat the Warriors playing like that. Rockets beat the Clippers so why aren't they respected more as a threat to the Warriors?

i don't think i said any asterisk and they did earn it - i'm just never going to think of them as an all time great team for those reasons.

OP is wrong to say "WOAT"

Spurs could have bothered to make it out of the first round to give the warriors a challenge :JJ:

Thank the stars that the pelicans found enough strength on the last day of the regular season to beat the Spurs and push OKC out the playoffs. Curry would've got mangled in that series and we wouldn't even be here, let alone with them barely beating a mashed up Cavs team........Just take this * and keep it movin..:mjlol:

Isn't it a problem that the Pelicans beat the Spurs on the final game of the season. Shouldn't that say something about them as contenders? Are we going to act like Parker and Manu didn't play like garbage in the first round and thats why they lost? Against a slightly above average defense in the Clippers, not the best in the game like the Warriors

Curry wouldn't have been guarding Westbrook and I hope for his sake Westbrook isn't guarding Steph, because he's not attentive enough to do so. OKC's defense was TRASH. Warriors would've done whatever they wanted against them offensively

You a OKC fan? If so you should know first hand that Westbrook is one of the most reckless defenders in the NBA, constantly gambling for steals he has no business trying to make plays on leaving his defense disadvantaged. He does not have the discipline to guard the best shooter in NBA history who's frequently moving off ball trying to get open. It takes a sharp defender to stay with him and not get caught ball watching. And yeah the Thunder defense was god awful this year. Thats why they didn't make the playoffs
