The question is, what can we, and other descendants of African slaves in America, do to get some real weight behind this?

Talking about it is great and I'm glad this thread was created. But what can we do to make this thing a reality or at least try our best to do so?

I think blacks should be supporting politicians like this who stick their neck out for the community. Both with our votes and our dollars.

The culture is pretty irrelevant IMO, whether it's African or African American. Black people in America are oppressed.Black people in Africa are oppressed. Our problem is we haven't yet started getting serious about dealing with our oppressors.

I've been saying for a while that we really don't need them. We have everything we need right now to do for ourselves, except for the desire to do so. One of the benefits to living in Atlanta though is it's a lot easier to spend my money with other black people. I'm doing some renovations on my crib and I've been able to find black contractors to literally do everything. My girl even found a black owned furniture company out here so we're planning to buy as much shyt as we can from them.

Again, if the goal is to stay here and fight, then fukking fight. Like I always tell nikkas, go into whatever city you live, find black people who are like minded, get organized, and start securing a future for yourselves. I mean we're not doing basic shyt like putting our money in a black owned bank. shyt, look around your house right now, and ask yourself what percentage of the shyt you made came from a black owned company? Look in your closet and ask yourself what % of your clothes are from black designers. Look at your bank statement and ask yourself what % of your money did you spend with other black people.

Breh...what makes you think that same struggle didn't exist not only in the Caribbean, but in South America, Europe, and even Africa. I'm not knocking the resilience of black people in this country. The fact that despite cacs best efforts we're still here is proof of that.

What I am saying is if the goal is to fight....then actually fight. Us just being here and taking abuse is not fighting. What are we doing to end the oppression that we face in this country? I look outside my condo window and I see black people in shambles breh. I see dilapidated houses, homelessness, and a people that's been suffering under a system of systematic oppression. I go to the burbs (a black suburb at that) and I see so few local businesses owned by black people. I look at the news and I see black people getting murdered on camera and there's absolutely nothing we can do it about because we have 0 power.

So if we want this shyt to stop (instead of just getting used to being treated like dogs) then we're gonna have to fight. Fight with our money, fight with out vote, and some of us are gonna have to even fight with our lives. Because right now all we're doing is just accepting the shyt, and that's not fighting.

And that's why I keep stressing that nikkas actually get involved in their community. Find an organization and mentor a little black kid, or find an organization and write a letter to a brother locked up in prison doing life. If you got the time, see what local political offices you can run for, and use the power of that office to do shyt exclusively for black people. Put your money in a black bank. Find an African centered school in your city (there's probably some) and ask how you can volunteer. If you got the money, donate to causes that exclusively help black people. There's a million and one things we can do and we have to do it if we ever want this shyt to change.

Ima keep it funky with you. Black americans been there done that with this American shyt. We need black dominated countries to build up and start sticking it to American/euro countries. You as a soldier and caribbeans/Africans would be better off making sure that comes into fruition than looking at this thing with an American perspective

Breh, African/Caribbean countries have been suffering under white supremacy just like us. It's one of the reason I became a pan african. Regardless of where we are on this planet, we're on the bottom. So my goal, and the goal of every other African should be to destroy white supremacy and bring us up from the situation we're in.

And this isn't a fight that's just by cats in the Caribbean and Africa. This is your fight too. If you're gonna stay in the US, you're gonna have to fight. If you're gonna move to Africa, you're gonna have to fight. There's not a single place any of us can go to escape white supremacy so our only option is pledge our lives to destroy it.

Unfortunately the problem is none of the influence we control. Hip-hop is now controlled by cacs. The vast majority of the music that world associates with us, are funded and distributed by white companies who have an obvious agenda. We're just the faces of it at this point. It's why despite how much influence we've had, it's done very little to help us fight our oppressors because they ultimately decide what we get to present to the world.

Mrs. Conyers in the mid 90s was so fukkin pretty. I know politically they had their issues. I don't know all the details but John and his family are good people.

I don't consider myself African American anymore than I consider myself Jamaican. I'm an African breh. And just like you, my ancestors were kidnapped from Africa and enslaved. Only difference between me and you is we got dropped off earlier

America is not my home, it belongs to the native Americans. Jamaica is not my home, it belong to the Tainos. My home is somewhere in West Africa (exactly where, I'll never know). And my goal is for my children (if I ever have them) to be born and grow up in their own home.

The reason I'm wanting to go to Africa is because I believe the best chance for black people to make it is to go some place where we have the numbers and resources. The entire planet is going to where we come from to steal our birth right from us. All of the land, resources, and wealth of this planet is there, so why are we not trying to go back and take the money we have to secure our homeland for ourselves.

For those that don't want to leave the US, you guys need to find a city where black people dominate, move there, and do everything in your power to fight white supremacy. Control the economics, politics, media, education, everything.

And this idea of "I'm not leaving to go to Africa because I want to stay and fight" is complete bullshyt. I don't see any fight in y'all nikkas. Black Americans are in the top ten richest group of people in the world. America is the country with the most black politicians, senators, and governors in the world outside of Africa.
