Conor McGregor reportedly punched the father of a crime cartel in Ireland, with the cartel now demanding €900,000 from the UFC star. The Irish Sun reports that McGregor accidentallyv hit the man, who is the father of a high-ranking member of the Kinahan Cartel, at a bar when he came in with a group of friends and got in a scuffle. The father was trying to separate McGregor and the other man when he was punched.
According to a source close to the matter, “The man’s son is an extremely dangerous individual who’s very well connected and respected by the top level of the Kinahan group. He’s not known to ever let someone away with stepping out of line, so punching his [father] will be treated very seriously, whoever you are. The man responsible is right to lay low. There’s already talk that they want €900,000 from him as compensation. They know he has the money at hand.”
Irish police are aware of the incident, but are not currently investigating as they have not yet received any complaints. The pub has denied the incident ever happened.
McGregor is reportedly laying low since the incident.
