Pretty much. The two major Los Angeles urban rebellions of 65 and 92 were started by street gangs/hood nikkaz. The Dartallions from watts weren't afraid of the police and end up pushing the cops out of there hood on Avalon and the same with the Eight tray gangster on 77th and normandie in 1992.
The thing is that people think hood nikka = dumazz, vampire, lazy, etc. 99% of America couldn't survive one day in the shoes of a hood nikka. You got enemies shootin' at your head, cops tryin' to arrest you for bullsh*t, gangs forcing you on the team doing dirt, lack of access to jobs because nobody wants to hire your black azz. Hood nikkaz be livin' a real life Survivor series
The suit and tie dudes like Al Sharpton ain't finna ride for you, it's the homey with the swap meet tshirt and khakis. Look at the Puff/Shyne situation. If Shyne had been with D-Block, guarantee you that situation goes down completely different. Hood nikkaz the ones maintaining black culture in the Chi, steppin' and all that good stuff, all the suit and tie dudes try to stay as far away from that sh*t as possible
If you remove hood nikkaz, you remove the backbone of the male warrior culture in the black community. Think about it. Who boxes? Hood nikkaz. Who is up on gun game? Hood nikkaz. Who holds down the block? Hood nikkaz. Who rides for their neighborhood? Hood nikkaz. You get rid of them you can walk into the black community and do whatever the f*ck you want
