While i "get" what the op is saying, i cant fully get on board with it. There was an excellent documentary that came out a few years ago called b*stards of the Party that touched on some of the sentiments of this thread. Yea the Panthers did come from the gang culture of defending the hood from white mobs and gangs. Yea gangs did start with the concept of community defense. However that was 60 years ago. The current mutation dont care anything about the black community. Just keeping other brothas from other blocks from staking claim to "their" area.

I think the op is reaching more for potential and intent for what it actually is. If a race war popped off the goons wouldn't be "our" infantry. They would be in self preservation mode. I dont get a sense that goons give a fukk about the greater good of their people. Just their "nikkas" they hang wit.

That's just not true. There is a very small minority of people who are just too far gone. Yes they exist.

But the overwhelming majority of people in the "hood" want to become educated and prosperous just like everybody else. Their problem is, they just don't know how to do it. No leaders, no guidance.

We are simply stating the truth. We don't need to rely on young men who don't want to change their lives for the greater good. Also, I don't understand why you are disturbed by opposing opinions. I don't see anyone who state that will abandon the poor blacks, which you indicated. They just don't want hoodlums to be the security of black community, and I agreed with their point of view.

The Crips were formed by Raymond Washington who was just a high school student. He just wanted to create the most powerful gang in LA at the time. The name Crips originally met "cripple" because Raymonds brother was crippled. The Bloods were just formed as a reaction to the Crips. They had nothing to do with the political Black Panthers. Thats just a myth Crip gang members used to make the gang seem less like a gang. A criminal groups(even mob) does that. Heck even one of the Crips most feared gang member Tookie Williams said that was a lie.

Again its a myth. The only black street gang that really had ties black empowerment groups were the black p stones from Chicago. There have always been black street gangs in the U.S.A. Even before the Black Panthers. Heck the Vice Lords in Chiraq PREDATE the Black Panthers. So trying to link current African American street gangs to the Black Panthers isnt going to work, because the dots are not there.
