When I hear men talk about multiple wives and or sidepieces I know they strictly concerned about sex and not peace of mind

My thinking is you can have piece of mind with two wives. Kids, cooking, and chores wear people down, an extra wife would fix all that. And they'd keep each other company talking about TV shows, going shopping together, etc.

Polygamy is difficult to maintain in the West. It can create instability in the long term. Better to have social norms against it as Westerners did (in the past at least).

Well the Quran does mention that a prophet was sent to each nations , speaking their language so at certain point, there were black prophets.
