Not saying your wrong cuz I agree 100%. But we live in a society where they are trying to keep us from succeeding and overcoming our ignorance. It's not as easy as clicking our heels a couple times to fix 300+ years of mental damage and shackles.
Idk if we can ever overcome. The damage is so deep rooted. Like he said "we don't even trust our own brothers." And with someone like Obama in we really looked up to him to be a leader for not only America but for black people especially. Someone to help speak about the topics this brother is preaching. I'm not religious but a lot of the stuff he said makes a lot of sense.

here is the thing 300+ years of mental shackles in my mind is an excuse, whoever is leaning on that for a reason that we are mentally damaged most likely is looking for a reason...Yeah it is harder for us as black people to get ahead, and we are overlooked, racially abused all the time, but that should give us even more reason to try and succeed..I hear people asking for reparations etc, that is the lazy way out trying to get a handout..Nothing is going to come to you if you wait...Even though it is easier for them the white man as a whole doesnt wait, they go get what they want while the average black man is looking for a handout..I know for myself I am a go getter and I just know that I have to work twice as hard to achieve things but I dont care as long as I am living and eating...People might rip me for this comment but

When we realize where those actions stem from; let's not pretend that Blacks were ever on an equal playing field as other races. Our ancestors were not brought over here by choice, they were brought by chains. Systematically broken and beaten, to the point where no walls or fences were built around plantations to keep the slaves in check, you rarely heard of any uprisings where slaves overpowered their masters, even though they outnumbered them.
Yes we have to be accountable for our actions, but it has to be brought to light that we act like fools because we were conditioned to be foolish.
And what happens when Blacks tried to have their own? they burned down a whole town in Oklahoma, the original Black Wall Street, but we are taught that Black success started with Oprah, Michael Jackson and Michael Jordan.
We do some self destructive things but when you have been denied access to things to enrich your life and the life of generations to follow, but at the same time have more than ample access to drugs, guns, liquor, church and lotto, and all the while the image of dog eat dog, instead of dog eat cat is thoroughly pumped in through various media outlets into the Black community. The white man isn't fearful of the gangster or the thug, he's fearful of the Black businessman, the Black doctor, the Black Lawyer, the Black CEO.
It takes 21 days of doing something in order for it to become a habit, good or bad, right now, a lot of our people are doing bad.

in that truth be told video he was criticizing black people for their behavior...
now ofcourse he's going to be talking about White people because they are the CAUSE of that behavior and STILL play a active part in continuing that behavior....

Umar dropped some gems and I follow that cat, but lets not act like there is no self destructive behavior in black America that we have made exclusively our own.

no, i disagree with this right there. the first sentences of what you're saying are pretty much sexist. are you saying that women are supposed to stay at home, have babies and basically make the dinner for the man who goes out and works everyday? a gender role goes behind what men and women dress in and gender is also a social concept as well like how race is. almost like saying that pink is for girls and blue is for boys. if a guy chooses pink, then he's seen as differently because guys aren't supposed to like pink.
and as for the family structure getting shattered into pieces. it has more to do with people not having any loyalty or being able to handle responsibility. a lot of people seem to not understand what marriage or a commitment is or what being a parent is either.
