Not just that it had gotten renewed. She was sick of playing to the FOB stereotypes and felt it was beneath her, she wanted to move on to other things. The "backlash" didn't even come from Asian folk mainly, FOB or otherwise. Trolls went in on her big time, trying to make her look ungrateful and know her "place". The only Asian people who had any issue were the Americanized ones who believe whatever the machine says. Most by far don't care.

Look how easy she did Crazy Rich Asians and that made a ton of paper. The machine has been pretty quiet on that front.

From what I read (I’ve never heard of her before), she got backlash for complaining about a tv series she was in being renewed. The level of entitlement some people have is staggering. How can you lack that much self awareness?

It seems like the criticism she received was warranted and now she’s using that “traumatic” experience to promote herself.

I’m serious when I say this, when I have children, I’m making sure they grow up with thick skin. I understand why my parents were hard on me, they didn’t want me turning out like these sensitive sallys we see today.
