It got to be more to the story. I know it’s a cut throat business, but damn he just worked with Cena, and was on SmackDown two days ago. He always seem to be loved backstage by everyone. Maybe there was a mix up, miscommunication or something (I doubt it).

Wouldn’t surprise me if they re-sign him. Maybe in a backstage role, or creative if it’s not another in ring contract.

There will probably be enough backstage uproar that he ends up on legends deal or backstage role

But I feel like if WWE had intentions on doing that they would’ve just had one of the sheets report that he was transitioning to a backstage role
