Focus on the 5 pillars of Islam and don't sweat the small stuff too much. It's funny how you can be considered by people to be a shytty muslim cuz of things like drinking, hijab, premarital sex etc. even if you fast, pray 5x a day etc. Remember it's a relationship between you and God and it's a slow process to become as perfect as possible.

The religion didn't authorize it.
That's one of the few things nearly every historian and religious scholar around the world can agree on.
Even certain cultural things people contribute to Islam like particular styles of dress and mannerism aren't actually islam, and are more regional.
You should educate yourself.
