A lot of doors and budgets and looks were opened to them after the Shady deal. It was a legitimate look. Also, I'm the first Em hater on this board, but there's a certain ethics and respect that I appreciate when people are loyal to their people. Conway fukks with Em, and one of his best friends Alc is Em's DJ. Royce and Conway been cool since before the Conway/Shady deal, and Royce and Em are cool. So again, Em is kind of extended family for Conway, and Em's been one of Conway's favorite rappers since like 99 or 00. Nothing else needs to be said. I think Em is a cornball, but Conway doesn't. And Conway has said a lot of kind words about Em's manager, Paul, as well.
It doesn't have to be as cynical as you're making it out to be. Also, what Conway said was factual. He didn't leave Shady. He finished his contract and that was that. I understand why he spoke out after the Benzino song.
You’re not wrong but I don’t think I am either. My point is Em is just the name behind Shady. He gave the co-sign. That’s really all I saw and it was a distro deal, not a typical recording contract. I am not debating the man’s personal feelings or relationship with him. I salute loyalty but sometimes we jump out the window for some and not others. I respect consistency.
