These artists that have a cult following from their independent career that sign to a label for “exposure” are hustling backwards at this point. These guys and Action Bronson don’t get my sympathy. They should’ve just kept it moving independently

Dude probably turned in a double LP full of soul samples and the A+R's laughed him out the office.

yup.

Signing to Shady was a terrible idea. These dudes can brag about selling vinyls for $300 in Japan all they want...nobody is buying their shyt overall. You are not getting soul samples cleared by Interscope in 2018 unless you are Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, or J Cole. Especially not when your album might sell 3000 copies.
:francis:

Should have either stayed independent and signed some 1 album deals, for instance do an album on Stones Throw with Madlib. Or signed a management deal with Roc Nation. No rapper should EVER sign to Shady or Aftermath unless you have a finished product and can do everything yourself (TDE, Dreamville).

They shoulda signed with Roc Nation :francis:
How you gon’ choose Shady over Roc Nation :what:
With Roc Nation you get
The Live Nation machine by default to tour (make money)
The opportunity to own your masters
The respect of a Jay-Z cosign (for the core hiphop fans they are focusing on)
A chance to tour and open up for Hov
A possible Jay-Z feature on your album

The only thing you have to sacrifice is the fact you’ll get a smaller advance
(Which you’ll make back on the back end anyway)

As someone who has been following them since that Combat Jack (RIP) episode & became a huge fan of them I'm shaking my head at all of this because I knew it was gonna happen once they picked Shady over Roc Nation..I'm not passing up the oppurtunity to sign with Roc Nation which is a label for artists..Shady dropped the ball on so many acts over the years (ex:Obie Trice, Stat Quo, Slaughterhouse) that I knew this was doomed from the start

You right about the advance too..I wouldn't care about the advance since it's not gonna be like the mid 90's advances anyway..I'm gonna make more on the back end on Roc Nation

:laff: hasnt even been signed to shady for a year and already fed up

i think 99% of WSG and Conway's fans knew this deal wouldnt work out. Should've just got management with Roc Nation and kept it pushing

Hopefully they can get back indie but probably wont happen. Em been rocking WSG shirts and everything

be fans of a trash, bytchmade rapper, brehs

They can pretend to be hard but I know hard shyt when I hear it. They always sounded semi-p*ssy to me. Being hard isn't in subject matter and talking about gun-bussing. It's your aura/personality/mindset.

You don't know what your talking about.
