I felt the same way when I went back.
After Living in NyC for 6 years and Denver for now 4, i felt like a tourist too.

Everything just closed down or got remodeled and is unrecognizable.
Lots of those GetGo drive stations out and about

Ross Park Mall feels like Im too broke to shop there with the damn Louis V and Gucci stores in them now.

I don't know of any hot spots anymore either cause all of them closed! The Shadow Lounge closing got to me cause I used to DJ there. There's nothing like that in Pittsburgh anymore.

Then the Station Square complex with Margarita Mamas, Matrix, and Tequila willies shut down and so many clubs close to where they used to have live acts in the 90s/2000s.

I couldnt even imagine what I'd do if I still lived there. Downtown Pittsburgh is tiny compaeed to like 75% of cities and it shuts down at 6. Compared to being in NYC where last call is at 4 i couldn't do it. The South Side scene is overrated as fukk. But since the Strip shut down and Station Square lost its appeal, everybody goes there. The bars are trashy thrre too. Lots of sports bars and irish pubs with racist cacs that like to get beer tough.

I was used to partying it up in Brooklyn at that point it couldn't compare to that mess.

Facts on facts. I moved back and I am :snoop:

I dont even know where to start looking for shyt. So I kinda gave up. I am actually contemplating moving back to Florida. I moved back to be nearer my parents and help them out. After I finish helping them renovate a couple of their rental houses so they can sell them I am dipping. It is actually kind of depressing here to be honest

And the blatant racism is actually pretty glaring. I have seen more Trump shyt and slick racism then when I lived in Florida which is crazy when you think about it.

I’m so glad I finally moved to Florida. I’ve been so much happier since I’ve been here. I can’t pinpoint why I’m happy but just being away from Pittsburgh is enough by itself. But I totally understand why you felt you needed to move back there

As a transplant, been living here for 3 years, I usually dip out of town on the weekends.
Coming from NY previously, it was a welcoming change of pace cuz I don't go out all the damn time...

The food here is just not it tho

I got peoples in Columbus and I been spending time in Cleveland lately too.

You wanna talk dead? Cleveland downtown is a ghost town throughout the day, unless theres a sporting event... I say Pitt is a lot better

I used to run a sports website with some guys from Cleveland. So I used to visit there from time to time. Downtown Cleveland was dry as fukk. Now the tailgate experience at the Muni Lot before Browns games was legendary. But the city itself was shockingly bad

You gotta know where to go. I do this all the time when i’m back in Cleveland with people that aren’t from there and they all have a great time.

That last part.
:wow:
So many damn blue lives matter flags and trump flags. When I came back for Christmas, My family's neighbors hung one up at their house when I visited and it got me hot! Like i tried telling them it was a big deal and they just laughed it off. It really made the whole time there for me very uncomfortable. They are older and immigrants so they don't understand what a big deal that is. Aside from the fact it was grey and rainy and cloudy the whole time I was there and the sun came out for an hour the whole weekend I was there.

The whole city feels like a sundowntown now. You couldn't pay me to live there anymore.

Primantis is fukkin garbage. shytty coldcuts on wack bread with soggy fries on top. GTFOH. Get a real sandwich from somewhere like Spak Bros or the Triangle Bar. Or the cheesesteak at Pizzeria Davide. Or get a fish sandwich at Wholey's in the Strip on some old school shyt.

Pusadees Garden for fly ambience and next level thai with a modern twist. Dianoia's for Italian. Gaucho Parrilla downtown if you want some Argentinian style steak. Umami in Lawrenceville for late night sushi and apps has a cool vibe, young and hip crowd, and usually a DJ. Mad good breakfast spots: Pamela's is the classic spot, multiple locations. Speckled Egg is good for breakfast too.

Grab a beer at Trace Brewery. Black owned, has an outdoor section, MF Doom mural outside, usually a food truck pulls up to the curb. Pittsburgh bars have the classic look of a dope dive, but they almost all suck because the white people in Pittsburgh are racist and generally miserable a$$holes.

Everyday Noodles in Squirrel Hill for Dim Sum. Get a heaping portion of halal meats at Salem's Market and Grill just before the strip. If you hit Pusadee's Garden for dinner, pop across the street to Allegheny Wine Mixer for a nightcap. Ask the bartender to recommend a glass of wine or to surprise you with a cocktail.

Go to Kaibur in Polish Hill for a coffee, just to see the views. Don't go to the bars out there like Gooskis. Nazi affiliations and shyt. Avoid downtown for the most part unless you go there to cross the Clemente Bridge (think it's closed at the moment, so cross the Warhol instead) and hop on the path alongside the river. Walk that path past PNC Park and Heinz Field, then make your way across to Point State Park. Maybe go up the Duquesne Incline to Mt. Washington and get that view of the city. Frick Park is a dope green space. Schenley Park by Carnegie Mellon is cool, and while you're in that area you can hit Phipps Botanical Garden. See what movies are at Row House cinema - it's attached to a beer cave and you can bring beers into the theater and recline on a leather couch while you catch a flick. The Mardi Gras in Shadyside is a dope div with the strongest drinks in town and a cool throwback jukebox. There are other bars in that area on Walnut Street where college broads drink. If the weather is cool hit Redfin Blues for an afternoon drink. It's right on the water.

You feeling super frisky and want some hood vibes, hit the Galaxy Lounge in Homewood. But you might not be seen again. Or The Spot in Penn Hills. Order this drink they got called the Wet p*ssy.
