The reason the Heat play off JV on the pick-and-roll is because they know he won't receive the ball and all Lowry and DD are trying to do is find space for their shot so they get over-crowded.

JV is actually a really good mover off the screen not only towards the rim but if he pops out a little to about 15 feet he can nail that jumper and Whiteside doesn't like defending outside the paint.

Or potentially if Lowry and DeRozan move forward off the screen they'll draw the big. Back it out and get the ball to JV on the inside with the little guard on him and let him exploit the mismatch.

Really simple basketball plays and the Raptors cannot even execute those properly.

I don't think we'll get a 50% performance from either, hell at this stage I'd settle for 40%.

That's all they need to do to. Passed up a bunch of chances to do it last night. I understand they are worried about JV turning it over but he's done enough to deserve a crack at this.

The worst part about this is whether the Raptors win or lose, Casey will be back next year. Therefore nothing changes and this team will be stagnant for years to come.

2016 - Franchise record 56 wins, get to the 2nd round with a top-10 pick coming and a young star emerging, still have ignorant yapping going on about the team "stagnating".

I like that the Raptors are winning and happy to see them finally reaching the second round but in the grand scheme of things this is fruitless. What I was hoping was that the Pacers blew us out. We fired Casey and hired Vogel to be the head coach. Vogel would shape up this team to be a threat. Instead we get Casey who has been a mess this season with his coaching style. This team reminds me of the Hawks from 2008 to 2011 who were good enough to get to the second round and nothing else. Stop looking at the regular season as anything worthwhile and focus on the real importance which is building you a team that can compete for a chip.
