I never thought Cooper would be a bust...until the mavs got the number one pick...

As it stands now they have no real point guard and they are clearly going to feature AD on offense, so how is he going to get the ball?

And when Kyrie get's back you know he going to be gunning for his trying to re-establish himself.

What role is he actually supposed to play on this mavs team other than role player to Kyrie and AD?

He might legit bust on the mavs but be fine on another team that is really going to build the team around him.

The funny part is that the Mavs should clearly take Dylan Harper at one because he is so much more of a fit for their team. All they have is an old guard coming off a serious injury and some random dudes, Harper could start for them day 1. Instead because of the Luka trade and the hype around Cooper they going to be forced to take him and watch a rival take Harper at two and probably create a dynasty with Wemby.
Kyrie is their point guard. He is an all time great playmaker and is unselfish. Remember he played 2 seasons with Jayson Tatum and Tatum turned out fine. He also had to share the ball with Jaylen Brown and it never stunted Tatum’s growth in any way. I think Cooper Flagg’s player profile is closer to how Jayson Tatum is as a player. Size, speed, athleticism, playmaking. I think he’ll be great in Dallas.

He will probably be a double double guy at his best just off his effort alone. But I'm not ready to say he will be a franchise talent either that can lead a team to a chip. Plenty of number 1 picks have been good and NOT that good though that is of course what you want in the best case scenario. Even if he's not a superstar I still see him being a pretty good player at worse with All Star potential.

Celtics played their best ball the season Kyrie was out :patrice:

Tatum played his best ball when Kyrie left the celtics :patrice:

Tatum can create a shot out of nothing and be a dominate offensive player. Don't know anyone who would describe Flagg that way.

Wont be a bust but also wont be a franchise talent...ive said from day one hes White Paul George...
I've seen this comparison thrown about, but he doesn't really play like PG.

They both have very different temperaments to begin with, so if Flagg ends up being tentative and more finesse (like PG) then it'll detract from his strengths. Aaron Gordon with the volume turned up to max is the best comparison for him.

I don’t know if Coop will be a “superstar” but he’s not going to be a “bust”. He’s going to be an impactful player in the league and with where the league is trending, two way players who impact the game on multiple levels is everything. This guy will be a productive starter on winning teams in his career
