That's why I'm sooo glad I left the tristate to move down south in the 90s...

My last spot was a roach motel off 166th and Washington in the BX that I was paying 875 RENT for with my ex to a Jewish slumlord

Now I'm paying 780$ in monthly mortgage for a three bedroom two bath and two car garage in the country

Heeeee Haw mofos :lolbron:

Hip Hop does live in the SOUTH :umad:

Came down to Georgia to attend an HBCU in 95...

And ain't been back ...only visit NYC will never go back to that socio economic death trap

That's cute, you're trying to defend your hometown. Ain't mad at you... But let's be real, traffic here is considered 2nd worst in the nation on most lists. We at least crack top 5. You sound like you don't own a whip so you don't care.

Overcrowdedness is a problem. You can front like it ain't, but when you're constantly stuck in traffic (in your case stuck in traffic via Uber or Bus), waiting in a long ass checkout line in every store you go to, living on top of or next to people, constantly hearing noise outside your window, find it harder to get a job....all that's due to overcrowding. It's a bigger problem than you think and it's only getting worse.
These are downsides to being in a big city, this isn't New York specific, but you're desperately trying to portray it as such.

not to trash NYC....

cause i have had some great times there............ :blessed:

but it ain't even FUN to visit anymore to me personally

uptown use to be sooo exciting to me full of life....with all the harlemites doing thier hustles and just the noise and excitment so much energy in the air!

it was very inspiring to anybody with a hustlers mindstate

i use to love getting on the trains when i was younger and visiting family or friends or just going shopping to spots like chinatown...albee square....webster ave or the colesium out in queens..

and just mingling amongst the hustle and bustle of the people and all the diversity.....and fine azz women of all nationalities :lawd:

but during my last visit to NYC recently it was pathetic....

i let shyt bother me now that didn't phase me when i was younger..

like staying at my aunt's brownstone in Bed Stuy which STILL HAS NO CENTRAL AIR ....my son felt like he was gonna die :to:

then to add insult to injury i decide to take him for his first trip to times square ...and we like to have a fukking heat seizure while waiting on the train ...

on the subway platform

and i just see a "dead" spirit in alot of nyc people even the ones who are doing "alright" financially

now it seems like everybody just struggling to even have some sense of "happiness" or just wanna find anyway to leave

and its not like that "grimey" era of NYC during the early 90s i was in..people still had that NYC GUSTO!!!...

where in spite of what guliani byatch azz was doing they were going to make it regardless :salute:

now i just see hopelessnes and false nyc pride

all my family now got this "how can i escape nyc" mentality ..

they all look :sadcam: when i go back down south to my home like on some pleaaase take us with you :noah: look

i miss the old nyc .......because right now it truly is looking like BABYLON up there

Honestly m, when i be passing by these buildings, many of them are abandoned. I never see anyone coming in or out of them. I don’t understand these prices.

Yeah til you lived somewhere else and realize how much bullshyt you were actually putting up with here in NY and ask yourself why the hell did you put yourself through that all these years.
This can be said anywhere a person lives. There's always downsides to a location. I have family that lives all over the country, there's things I like in those locations and things I don't. They say the same when they visit me.

Yoooo they straight fleecin these white transplants with these gentrification prices... :mjlol:

$2900 for one bedroom GTFOH... :mjlol: These developers gotta be stopped seriously tho...:francis:
Half those hipster fakkits got their rent subsidized by parents. Even they can't afford it. The value is so inflated. Lol

It's the same in Toronto. I go fukk we these broads and they living in $2000 + condos they can't afford solo... :dead: on the hip side of town. Same spaces used to be cheap as fukk a decade ago. Out of towners gentrify and pay those prices. Locals know better...
