It's a sad reality. My great uncle served 16 years and what he told me was "for most people who enter the department, if you aren't violent or prejudiced when you join, by the time you leave, you will be". That coming from one of the nicest guys I know. The entire system is designed this way and the entire population needs to find a way to wipe it clean because it's only going to get more violent from here.
