I agree that the cop could have and possibly should have used other force. But dude was tryin to kill the cop, so I don't have as much sympathy as I would if he was unarmed

I know tensions are high over the Ferguson fiasco but I really don't understand this board sometimes. There was a thread about someone possibly having a racist in his sociology class and people were chiming in about "giving him that work" etc.so the cop is in the wrong for shooting a guy that was stabbing people earlier and coming at you with a knife??
but just being called the N-word alone is grounds for execution to some of you??
Basically seriously beating a man over snide comments.
Yet a cop can't shoot a guy with a knife who has already stabbed someone.

The point I'm trying to make is, in distances of a few feet, a guy with a knife who is determined to kill is very very dangerous. And cops aren't that well trained. Look up something called the "Tueller Drill":
