Only because we choose to be. Blacks have been beaten into submission, plied with the myth of integration and trained to defend their master. Many Blacks have simply given up, with others going so far as to extol praise upon this white supremacist culture (eg. Charles Barkley). But there are clear rumblings of protest that are growing, and what was once a peaceful expression of our outrage is well on its way to becoming violent.
