I don't have a perfect fix solution. I just know that everyone going "to Africa" with nothing but what we have now is not only bad for us but also unfair to the nations that would receive us. Now if individuals are talking about they're going to try their luck in Africa I can rock with that. Better chance of success.
Azealia is all over the place but you know breh, she has a VERY valid point
1. The KKK was an active terrorist group. We don't have one of those.
2. The Civil rights situation was a lot different than it is now. Racism is a problem, but its harder to put a face on. We can't even get academic whites to admit white supremacy exists, much less identify it
3. Black integration in public schools isn't as politically expedient as it is today
4. The issue facing police brutality is more nuanced than: gays can't get married or illegal immigrants seeking asylum.
Don't use these intellectually lazy arguments in here.
She's said pretty stupid shyt regarding race herself, but she's on point here. I hate these celebrities who are silent through this whole process but then want to give their condolences and say "how unfortunate,we need change" when the actual indictments aren't passed. Be able to benefit from black culture but distance yourself from the issues that actually matter. That privilege.
Thats my chocolate sista. I don't know why she gets so much hate on here.
Nah. What obligation does Azelia have to say shyt, she's not even American. I'm more curious why American rappers have next to nothing to say about this.
Hell even if Azelia said something it would be blown off by people who hate her regardless. See: that Macklemore thread full of dudes dismissing him protesting the Michael Brown bullshyt.
Wow. Not shock, disappointment, just wow. I've sat thru movies with endings as transparent as this "decision" and you still watch with a small bit of curiousity like will they really just stick to the predictable scripted ending? Illegal chokehold on camera, yet nothing illegal occurred.
I've long made friends with the idea that at my size and my look I have to be overly super cautious when dealing with the police. .. blah blah blah poor me.
It just doesn't feel good in what's about to be 2015 thinking about having to have the same "boy when you get some size on you" "plastic/toy guns" "wrong place wrong time" "basically being black" when it comes to the police conversations with nephews, nieces, future kids that I had to hear from my old heads growing up. Post racial America tho.
stay strong
Breh, they don't understand, the President is the spokeman for the USA. He is damn near obligated to speak about this kinda shyt.
It is the people who have something to hide and don't want it out in the open who say that. White people sick of racism being pointed out...
well aren't we all sick of what racism has allowed this country to become? fukking country was built on racism, in fact.

I only have one solution for this brehs. I'm being dead serious right now. But, we know it won't end. We need to protect our own. If a cop kills your loved one (son, brother, parent) and gets off for it, you need to take from them. They murder your son, you murder his son. That's the only way this shyt ends. Israel has a rule, that every Jew in Israel who's blood is split, two of of the terrorist must die, no matter where in the world they are at. Watch the movie Munich to get a better understanding. I'm sorry but if they kill my son, I'm getting justice. I know some of you abhor violence and believe that it will solve nothing but we all just watched a man get choked to death on the streets and the cops walked free.....What else will it take for young brothas to wake up and stop shooting at each other and start defending ourselves?
the point Ms. Banks is making is that Iggy is dikk riding American black culture, making $$$ here off it, using Top Informant's ghost written rhymes to do it and is doing it in vocal blackface.
Chick is selectively vulturing the culture for gain and like 99% of celebs, when theres some real shyt to speak on, folks are absent. Still, we shouldn't expect them to say anything when they rely on a check and their mouths are hence paid for. They cant say what they arent allowed to
The wack part is there being tons of rappers/singers/athletes/actors who grew up hard and are super disconnected to everything unless it comes with a check. But when their back is against the wall, suddenly theres a need to lean on the community for support
on these issues. But only "Uncle Toms" like Barkley get called out for it. Let us hold our entire community to the same standard is all.
