Myself personally breh on the bolded, I think there's a different element in uniform thats potentially worse than an avowed white racialist. Its the poor temperamented and impulsive outsider who views his job as patrolling amongst the natives instead of looking at it as serving and protecting all citizens. I'd venture to say you'll have a hard time finding large numbers of st0rmfr0nt types in uniform even if you had God's eyes or the Predator's infrared vision. I think its the opposite in many cases. Its Bob who grew up away from and resides away from the community he patrols. He's jumpy, mistakenly thinks he's corageous to hide his own fear, and thinks every young Black male is a threat. He'll waive to Mrs.Johnson and genuinely like her, but feels uneasy around her teenage grandson. You take this same cop and put him in a situation that involves a level head, and the situation ends in tragedy. It reminds me of the dichotomy presented in Colors with Sean Penn's character and Robert Duvall.

Going a step further, one can at times change the race of the cop and it still wont be any better. You've got Black cops who see themselves as some sort of Judge Dredd, and they shouldnt be patrolling Black communities either. They can be scarier than white cops at times. Granted I'm typing while thinking, but this problem I think is more complex than viewing cops as simply "racist." There's different spectrums of racism, and often I think its the Lite Racist who has a ton of flaws outweighing his racial views as reasons why he shouldnt be in uniform.

We enforce racial quotas on colleges (affirmative action) and companies (diversity hiring) but, not on police forces. Generally, in my opinion, the demography of the police force should match or come close to matching the demography of the town. I doubt whites would want an all black police force patrolling their neighborhoods yet, it's cool we have a bunch of whites patrolling ours.

Or at the very least the cops should have to live in the neighborhoods they patrol.
