Megaton move, back in Corbyn's corner.

This definitively ends the question. Give people another referendum now that they FULLY understand the consequences and let them vote on it and have the cards fall where they may. It was the only play as he wasn't forcing the Tories into a GE to take power without offering a viable alternative to the primary argument of the day. This is the only way to get his Labor into power and begin to end austerity which is direly needed.

but won't a new referendum take like 6 months or more to put together?
That's why it's savvy to do this now. Either May A) Doesn't sanction a delay with the EU (who've said they'd push it back if another ref came up) to set up the referendum in which case her popular legitimacy goes into the tank overnight. Or B) She does and risks open rebellion within her own party from the hardline Brexit honks which, despite empty claims that the defections from Labor will do anything but siphon off Lib-Dem votes, will do drastically more to damage the Tories when they are in dire need of stability.

It's excellent timing, whether the defections forced Corbyn's hand or not.
