I was wondering the same thing.

How about a movie on Frederick Douglass? Or Toussaint L'Overture? Or, dare I suggest it, Nat Turner?

Marcus Garvey or a list of other people. I'm sick of seeing re-made movies about slavery, MLK and/or Malcolm X. It's already good movies/documentaries about this stuff, go for something else. There are a lot of books that I would like to become movies as well.

Of course black males will support the movie as long as there is a cute light skin girl in it. Can't have a bunch of dark skin females with no pretty redbone in the mix. :manny:
Coretta was dark skin now :mjlol:
dudes is not bout to go watch a fukkin documentary for the females in it anyway :russ:

Why not? How many MLK movies are there?
Here is a list I got from Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Films_about_Martin_Luther_King,_Jr. I remember seeing "King" which was a really good portrayal of his life and I believe I saw "Boycott" as well. There are also really good documentaries on youtube but I can't remember the name of all of them. I just don't think we need another film about him. Not to mention, MLK jr is already "popular", studied during black history month and all that. What else do you need to know about him? What is this new movie going to reveal that hasn't already been learned/discussed?

Unfortunately I can't find his name right now, it was years ago when I first read it, he was a white activist who was a widower, Dexter wrote about him coming over all the time and being a father figure to him and his siblings. I know he has a wiki entry.

The real question is if she considers herself black or bi-racial. :usure:If it is the latter then I have an issue with her playing this role. It would be the equivalent of having Cameron Diaz play a Latina character.
Does she connect with the characters she's playing (especially if it is biographical role) or is she just trying to get in where she can fit in. :camby:
