yes, but not really. plenty of illegals don't even work, and where the hell are they all supposed to live? it's not just about jobsIsn’t the problem really the people hiring illegals?

The problem with the immigration issue, is no one is offering real solutions. Only doing thing that cause us problems.
The reality is, low wage workers like them will always have these jobs. Unless they are replaced by other low wage workers.
Nobody is getting paid a premium to replace otherwise their wouldn't be an issue. Everyone would rather hire someone without a language barrier all other thing being equal.
You get rid of all the immigrants, the companies will just outsource to oversea markets and import the products home. Which means we lose the tax revenue from their wages, and we pay premium for those same product due to tariffs.
We are better off with them here unless you figure out a real solution. Like maybe finding a way to incentive employers to invest more in local workers. Not sure how you would do that when your politicians are funded by these employers though.

No agents don’t know the specifics of their status. They just detain them then try to figure out their status while they are in holding. Keeping them in these places with family not knowing where they are
having dirty paper work and having charges are a choice
