I have no sympathy for rappers who signed a bad record deal in the last few years, especially if your an experienced artist.

Mega was arguably the most successful independent rapper from 2001 to 2002, you would think he would know the game for Realness II album but i guess you...

I mean if he asked out of a bad deal and was told he was free and then the label reneged, thats not entirely Mega’s fault. Little Brother and De La Soul went through the same thing and both of them JUST got that shyt sorted out after damn near 30 years.

He's had 1,382 of these same situations since '96.

And he tells the same story about every label over and over again. I watched him come into Def Jam and act a fool and then blame the label. It's him. His personality and how he conducts himself is why his opportunities have dried up. I don’t even like Stoute, but everything he said about Mega was true. Dude's his own worst enemy.

I just assumed that album was 100% independent and not on a label. This is a really weird thing to learn. Viper Records...is that correct?
Is that Immortal Technique's label? I remember hearing some weird shyt about the owner being some old white guy who inherited Norman Rockwell paintings to fund the label...

I did notice that Mega's music was missing on Spotify and need to find my CD copy of True Meaning lol

That's what I don't understand. If Cormega literally paid for everything himself, what was the label doing? I always thought he was independent.

My good friend who lives and works in London saw Mega perform at some venue, tiny place with a crowd of 60-70 in total, Mega came on to perform a 50-60 min set and didn't even bother to give the DJ the correct tracks in order to play and set up..the DJ apparently got on the MIC and dissed Cormega and said "mate, you better fix the fukk up next time because this is embarassing to me..!!" the promoter felt awkward and didnt know what to do..everybody turned silent and mega suddenly picked up the MIC and did the rest of the set acapella and people left the tiny venue.

Mega needs to call Havoc and put something out. Distribute it on Mass Appeal. It might go triple cardboard but it should turn a profit if it's all independent.

..... back in 05 . . AZ offered Cormega a chance to perform a few songs at the AWOL album release. . . Mega ended up hijacking AZ's slot and kept bringing up guests and had his artist Dona perform two of her solo joints . . had Blaq Poet randomly come up . . . then Cappadonna outta nowhere.. .. he brought up some Asian dude that played The Saga Continues Rmx on a keyboard , , it was unorganized and the sound system wasnt shyt, , i was gettin bored and went out front . . .. AZ was out there lookin real emotional and standing there on a phone cursing somebody out telling them "he's runnin a talent show in there like we at the fukkin Apollo" . . . by that point most of the crowd had left . . . i didnt go back inside but i guess AZ only ended up performing two songs off AWOL at 4:30am and then the club turned all the lights on and it was a wrap. . . . . it was supposed to be a 90-minute set of new and classic tracks . ..

People always asking why Mega wasn't successful. This is why.

He's the problem.

Actively telling people not to support an album until a certain date has got be a contract violation or close to it.

What's ironic is that Cormega was kissing Jim Jones' ass on IG just a few months ago. I can't imagine having sympathy for Mega's contracts problems after that.
