Above the fray.
Agree with Cormega about the timing.

The thing is, the entertainment industry is heartless. Black Rob was a victim of the machine.

Puff trying to rebrand himself as something other than what he is has been getting called out the past few years. "Black, black, blackety Black" talk from Puffy is hot air, and everybody knows it. Him pushing that line now with Black Rob passing away destitute was bound to cause backlash.

I agree with cormegas message about saving the discussion for later now is not the timebut let’s get real...He took him on the bad boy reunion tour because black rob had an all time classic bad boy album (keyword bad boy peoples) and all time hip hop classic (woah). They needed each other for that. Isn’t diddy known for contractually dikking his new artists and than hanging them out to dry if they complained and wanted out of the deals. Diddy is also known to back down once you bring the media in and make him look like a demon. Remember him refusing to let the lox out the deal until they complained on radio and diddy ended up having to call in as well they had him looking so bad.

Yeah, for someone like Diddy, the flack he sometimes catches is warranted. He's completely right about the timing, but at the same time, this is one of those things in which when will the time ever be right? It's a situation that can easily get put on the back burner during other times, during to being so busy, and life itself...so there's a fine line.

It'd be different it was just Black Rob..its everyone

but not everyone that was on Bad Boy had the same fate as Rob. Mase is still alive, he’s in good enough health and wealth from what I can tell. I don’t see The Lox homeless and having strokes and heart attacks. Biggies fate had nothing to do with Puffy himself as far as his health goes (I’m not getting into who killed BIG or why), G Dep caused his own problems by murdering some guy and turning himself in for it, nothing to do with Puff. Puff didn’t make Black Rob go to jail or give him bad health and like Mega said, Puff even tried to help, there’s plenty of pics of Rob back in the studio with Puff, he went on tour with him. You think he didn’t get paid for the tour dates? Or for writing some songs?

Mase quit the music biz, Lox were damn near broke and had to basically beg to get off the label. Shyne, Craig Mack, etc. I know they're all grown men and make their own decisions but at some point you gotta look at the common denominator

This.

Diddy is a dirt bag but in this particular instance he didn't necessarily owe Black Rob anything.

I don't know why people act like both can't be true at the same time.

no diddy is know for giving out the same standard contracts the entire industry did except diddy is known.

hung out to dry? Rob left bad boy of his own free will after they pursued him when he got out of jail. but diddy blah blah

the narratives people chose to run with are what is popular because nobody likes thinking for themselves. The lox never completed their contract and they got out regardless. so did mase. the industry doesn't do that. Diddy did.

Baby had nikkaz on heron but nobody call him "the devil"
Suge... self explanatory. He didn't even honor contracts

All diddy did was give people industry standard documents to sign. but let's not think for ourselves. run with what's popular.

I’m not saying Puff was an angel but I don’t understand why people are blaming Puff for Black Robs health issues. People out here saying Piff should have bought side a house and all this crazy shyt. Puff didn’t make him drink like a fish, puff didn’t fukk up his organs or put him in jail, puff didn’t fukk all them chicks and make him pay child support. There’s a lot more to it than some shady record deals. Craig Mack died because he was in a weird cult. Shyne is now in politics in Belize so he’s living a much better life than he would have if he stayed being a rapper. My point is the health side of it not necessarily the money.
