realized that when they kept saying everybody who wears a mask is just pretending to be good or "virtue signaling". The number of sociopaths that revealed themselves throughout this pandemic was surprising though.
people who didn’t care about wear mask weren’t wearing them before the cdc guidance.
I don’t know why people think there will some big societal shift after the cdc announcement

No, thankfully, but I’m going out of town for a week to see if anything comes of it(not the sole resson). I’m very concerned about lifting the mask mandate and its implications for my family. If I lived in the boondocks I wouldn’t give a shyt but I don’t.

The funny thing is it's the opposite from US. In US there's still many cases but people still requires incentives to increase the vaccination rate. In China they already giving incentives for months (coupons and free stuff) but the surge to get vaccinated only started after several local cases.
Not something on the top of most minds, but a reminder that we still don't know the actual origin of the disease. The possibility that it leaked from the Wuhan lab (even if it wasn't manmade, just a natural virus studied there) or even leaked via a researcher or viral sample collector getting sick themselves is still a viable possibility.

It’s crazy to think that at the start of the pandemic there was such certainty that the virus emerged from a wet market and jumped from bat to humans.
The fact that we can’t categorically rule out that this was a possible man made virus is chilling...
I wonder what else we don’t know.
